Jeancarlo’s passion for garden design began early. When he was about twelve years old, he spent his afternoons walking his neighborhood in Lima, Peru with Bertha, a woman who helped care for him as a child. Together, they wandered in search of plants that caught his eye, gathering them with care and bringing them home to be replanted. Those walks shaped the way he sees plants today. They taught him that plants are more than decor, and that early fascination for form and texture, and the way plants complete a space and made him feel never left him.
Who WE ARE
The Garden Studio was founded by Jeancarlo Oblitas alongside his partner Paul Farrow, and his mother, Dora Diaz. Together, they bring a shared appreciation for beauty, intention, and well-designed spaces.
Born from a deep passion for interiorscape and garden design, our work is rooted in a simple belief: plants are not accessories, they are living architecture.
Our vision is to transform spaces with architecturally-significant specimen plants, handcrafted stone vessels and thoughtfully sourced vintage pieces that bring warmth, balance and presence into a room.
What WE DO
We specialize in sculptural, indoor specimen plants and statement vessels for residential and commercial interiors. Our collection ranges from refined tabletop pieces to large-scale specimens over 14 feet tall, each sourced specifically for clients seeking something rare, intentional and visually striking. Some plants are left in their natural form, while others have been shaped to enhance their movement and character.
How WE WORK?
We source our plants from various regions of the United States and build trade relationships with nationwide resources to provide the best for our clients.
Each plant and vessel is hand selected by Jeancarlo for its structure, scale and unmistakable “wow” factor, making each piece a true living statement.
No two pieces are alike. Each is chosen for its presence, curated with a trained eye and an appreciation for form, proportion and character.
Why?
Inspired by our travels and love for beautiful spaces and architecture, we saw an opportunity to bring the gallery- level plant experience to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Our goal is to introduce a new way to look at plants — as collectible, timeless living art pieces.
The Garden Studio works with homeowners, designers, architects and commercial clients seeking distinctive, one-of-a-kind pieces never before seen in the Metroplex.
We look forward to creating something truly unique with you.
